A Life Forged In Fire
Born Richard Thomas, on the island of Trinidad, part of the twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago in the southern Caribbean — a place where rhythm, spirit and resilience are woven into daily life, Ras Ber I's journey carried him to Canada, across the United States, from Atlanta Georgia to the mountains of North Carolina, and through experiences that would test — and ultimately forge — his soul.
A Lifetime of Spiritual Study
Over more than 30 years of dedicated study and practice, Ras Ber I has immersed himself in the world's great wisdom traditions — Christian Mysticism, Taoism, Buddhism, Zen, Kabbalah, Kemetic spirituality, Vedanta, Sufi Islam, Sikhism, Rosicrucian Alchemy, Mayan tradition, Rastafari and West African traditions including Ifá, Yoruba and the Dogon of Mali — distilling from them all a single unified framework he calls Universal Practical Spirituality.
Teaching and Community
Long before formally launching Lion Power Abundant Living Life Coaching, Ras Ber I was already doing the work. He has lectured on Rasta spirituality at Georgia State University in Atlanta, given seminars and lessons in breathing and meditation in Asheville North Carolina, taught the Dreamspell Mayan 13 Moon calendar and astrological system and counseled individuals on their spiritual path for decades. Across communities and generations, countless people have told him that his guidance was a turning point — a blessing — in their lives."
Business and Finance
Ras Ber I brings real world business experience to his coaching. For approximately 15 years he led and managed reggae bands on lean budgets — learning firsthand the discipline, creativity and leadership that entrepreneurship demands. He has worked in customer service across tax filing, health insurance and fuel logistics for businesses and government agencies. He holds a Life and Health Insurance License, is actively pursuing securities licensing and serves as an independent contractor representing several providers and he teaches financial literacy both in person and on Zoom. His business philosophy is shaped by two powerful principles — the Go-Giver approach of Bob Burg and John David Mann, giving more value than you receive and trusting that abundance follows — and the marketing by education model championed by financial mentor Xuan Nguyen, who has guided numerous individuals to millionaire status
